BluePrint for Retiring

In this program we will work with a new generation of people going through retirement transition, who want to make the most of their next 30 years but struggle with the overwhelming question; “what will I do with my time?” and are afraid they won’t be able to find new forms of personal satisfaction.

We offer to Whittlesea U3A Members initially, a program where you can reflect, gather information and choose what’s going to be the most meaningful for you as you move into a new retirement lifestyle.

Through this program, you will:

  • Save precious time and avoid unnecessary anguish through structured guidance – through YOUR options.
  • Choose things which will give you a MEANINGFUL fulfilled lifestyle.
  • Avoid negative spiral of Boredom, Dissatisfaction, Stress and Anxiety that many people go through as they move into retirement. Instead, you can stay healthy, and maintain good relationships with your nearest and dearest.

We shall learn a great deal together, after all, we are all agents of Change 😊

Is this program for you?

If you are only concerned about the amount of money you have in retirement, or the travel that you will do, this program is not for you. Finances will not be our focus.

Instead, you will be prepared to undertake some self-reflection, consider and explore where and how to find new forms of satisfaction and joy in your life.

You will be preparing for retirement, not just starting retirement. Retiring is a process, not a destination.

The Program:

Topics covered will include:

Skills; values; dreams; where you find fulfilment and joy; what there is available in the community; dealing with ageing; managing stress; location; family adjustments and roles; and developing an action plan for yourself and your new lifestyle.

A Framework approach combines theoretical understanding and practical observation (self-reflection) – initiating creative ways of understanding not only Transitions leading up to Retirement, but Transitions while in Retirement.
